Has anyone else had any problems with their oil pumps drive gears?

None that I have heard of! Are these really out of a Beta motor, or a KTM XC4 motor?

We need more details of this failure please; assuming you want us to take this seriously.

    Been busy. Beta motor.
I had to run it a little low on oil after casing a rock and puncturing the clutch cover. Maybe 20 miles mainly downhill and road before patched and oiled up. That was on August 13. 40 hours later on Sept 16 the camshaft squeaked after a light knocking. noise.
    Oil pump shaft rotates freely.
I am assuming over heated gears but one has a tooth missing to indicate debri in the oil.
Just trying to cover all my bases to make sure it does not happen again.

There you go! I am surprised Beta doesn't do better w/ the stock plates but then again what other company does!

Thanks for the details. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I would certainly be looking for what got into those gears. Maybe fractured metal from the backside of the cover? Did you find any non-plastic debris behind the clutch cover or in the sump?

    Good luck!

    Update:

Motor went back together no problem. Rode for another 20 hours and then changed the oil/filter. The last couple of rides it was hard starting when cold and then popped and farted for a minute until a little warm, then okay.
    Here's the filter.

Must be water in the oil, but how? Head gasket?

Why do you think there is water in the oil? Only way in is head gasket or water pump. I'm guessing it is full of debris.
