I would say clogged as well. Cut the filter media, paper, along the flanges around the circumference of the filter. Then stretch the paper out and you can take a better look.

Apparently it is a problem with some KTMs because of the water pump seal but on the Beta the water pump seal would leak into the gear oil.
Once the paper is saturated with water it will not flow oil. My oil was black like it should be, no sign of water contamination.
I opened up the filter last night and there was not a lot of particulate.
It was a little chilly last night ride ( 31 F ) and I read that cold oil may cause this. Seems unlikely.
Free revving the bike in nuetral can do that as well but that was generally with filters without metal cores. KTM 250 sx-f had that problem when they came out. Along with cold oil of high viscosity, etc..
With the hard starting and rough running/ filter sucked in. I would check all my carb vents, gas tank vent, hose from ls cover to carb. De - smog doesn"t apply in US (right?). Then clean the carb and check air fule screw.
I had the same systems with popping on decel (flames). and rough running. cleaned carb and good!
Didn't really do anything but bike is running good, just have to crank it over quite a bit on cold start.
New oil filter, checked after 10 hours and no problems.
Just put in the Core exp. Try it out this weekend.
Probably go with the left hand rear brake. Pretty handy for those gnarly downhills when you have to dab the right foot.
Also a lot better for keeping it from rolling backward when you don't make that nasty climb.
How do you like the Rekluse, I am saving for one now!
Had one in the Gasser. Kind of like cheating in the technical sections. Should be great with the four stroke and e start.
Yup, the Rekluse is the shit! If you ride nasty, gnarly single track, you need one.
