and the update seems to be much better? I hope, the 10 520 drives me crazy with the noise at times...
Much, Much better. No noise. Is the same or maybe even slightly quieter than the DJH Manual Tensioner.

Is the old CCT causing any damage or excessive wear?
Have not had any failures or cam chains that have jumped timing. However, I'm sure it is easier on the cam chain and the chain should last longer.

Chip... could you elaborate a little as to why you prefer the Beta CCT upgrade kit over the Dirt Tricks CCT? Were there problems with some of the ones you installed on other bikes?

According to the prices I saw online, the DT CCT is about $70 cheaper and is much easier and quicker to install. (Assuming it's like the DT CCT I installed on my KTM a few years ago) I just don't know enough about this stuff to make an informed decision.

If the Dirt Tricks unit works, why would anybody in their right mind go to all the trouble, time and expense to install the OEM unit?!

I installed the kit on my 2011 400 RR.
All I can say that it took far longer than one hour, but it worked like a charm.
The bike is extremely quiet now, all the racketing is gone.

    Cool! Thanks for the update!

Did you have any problems installing it? Even if it took 2 hours it would still be far less time than installing the Beta CCT. (for me anyway)

Sorry, my post was unclear. It's the Beta CCT kit that I installed.
My wrenching skills are excellent, and with that in mind I'd say:

    - The kit worked perfectly and everything fit nicely, I had no trouble whatsoever in completing the job.
    - The instructions were clear and easy to follow. But they should mention that the flywheel puller is needed.
    - The operations involved are complex and no beginner should try it, in my opinion. A good afternoon will be needed.

    Ahhh, I see now.

Just out of curiosity, what made you choose the Beta CCT kit over the DT one?
