SM set up for 520 RR!

    Okay, here's the deal.
I have an extra 18" wheel assembly that I would like to put in a cush hub on and a street tire. I would like to buy a front tire SM wheel set as well.
Can I make a SM set up w/ 18" rims?
Can I go 18" rear and 17" front?

    What would I need?

    Thanks guys!

I'm guessing that you are going to have to go 17/17 to keep the bike equal. I've never seen a 18/17 setup, but that doesn't mean it can't be done??? Easy way would be buy a set of 17" SM wheels.

I would say a 17/18 setup would be problamatic with handling. Tire selection could be a problem as well, high performance on one end and low performance on the other. If your not going to race it or are not worried about absolute performance you could go with a set of dual sport, 21/18, 80% on-road/20% off-road tires. Like a Suzuki DRZ-400 came with, they are cheap and great on pavement.

Don't know what you'd find for a 18" front or why you'd want to go 18/18 instead of 17/17???

Because I already have a 18' for the rear ready to go. If money was no object I would be all set!
