There are a few things that you will need to transfer from your old tank to the new tank.
The front seat post...
You will also need to remove the petcock from your old tank and use it in your new tank. You can't use the old screws to secure it to the new tank. According to the instructions new bolts should have been included but they weren't. (Something to check on when you get it) I had extra allen head bolts on hand so I was able to continue with installation without issue.

Now comes the tricky part... mounting it. There are 6 bolt holes that need to line up to get this thing mounted correctly.
1. The rear bolt post on the frame.
2. Left Radiator bolt hole. (You may need to wiggle the radiators a little to get the holes to line up)
3. Right Radiator bolt hole.
4-6 The front bracket assembly. There is one bolt hole in the frame and 2 bolt holes on the front underside of the tank. Here is the front bracket.
Unfortunately this bracket doesn't line up with all three holes very well. You can get the two tanks holes to line up but then the frame hole doesn't line up. Or you can mount it on the frame but you'll be unable to line it up with the two tank holes. After to talking to a few people I learned that my situation was not unique. One guy doesn't even use the bracket and another used a small file to enlarge the holes in the bracket so they line up with the tank. I ended up making a custom bracket. It ain't pretty but it works.
The indentation on the top left is to accommodate the throttle cables in this area when making a hard right turn. Probably not totally necessary but I did it anyway. If I had to do it again I would have just used the same basic shape as the original bracket but instead of the holes for the tank bolts I would have given myself a little more wiggle room by having slots instead of holes. The correct orientation of the bracket on the bike is what's shown in the top photo.

Thanks HS. I figured if nothing else people would have a few photo's to look at and be given a little insight as to what's involved with the install. Other than the bracket issue it really does seem like a nice product. Aesthetically speaking, I think the black tank would have looked a little better but I really like the idea of being able to see my fuel level on the clear tank. I thought about putting stickers on it but there's no way I was paying $70 for 2 stickers. Give me a break! Plus I was concerned they would just bubble off anyway.
Does the tank sit on the two frame mounted rubber 'snubbers' like the stock tank? If so, I wonder why the additional forward mount is necessary. Also, is the tank compatible with the OEM fan kit?

I don't have a fan kit so I can't comment. I think I've read that it is compatible though.
By 'snubbers', do you meant the square rubber pad shown at the bottom of this photo? If so, I'm not sure. I can double check though.

The tank doesn't sit on that rubber pad that's on the frame. Here is a picture looking from the steering column under the tank. On mine there is about a 1/4" gap between the top of the rubber pad and the bottom of the gas tank.
